Three non Conventional Paradigms of Parallel Computation
نویسندگان
چکیده
We consider three paradigms of computation where the ben-eets of a parallel solution are greater than usual. Paradigm 1 works on a time-varying input data set, whose size increases with time. In paradigm 2 the data set is xed, but the processors may fail at any time with a given constant probability. In paradigm 3, the execution of a single operation may require more than one processor, for security or reliability reasons. We discuss the organization of PRAM algorithms for these paradigms, and prove new bounds on parallel speed-up.

Notability of Substantive Elements of Economics, in Groundwork of Evolution of Economic Thought
This paper is investigating that:" resurging evolution of economic thought, EET, is brilliantly in direction with eminence of substantive elements of economics itself". It presupposes that the substantive elements of economics embraces the following package: 1- maintaining on some epistemic doctrines, including rationality, efficiency and equilibrium.2-dynamic characteristic of economic theorie...
متن کاملThree Unconventional Computational Paradigms
My recent work has uncovered at least three general unconventional computational paradigms within which parallel algorithms lead to a superlinear improvement in performance (that is, speed and quality) with respect to their sequential counterparts. These paradigms, described in some detail below, are: computing in real time, computing within the bounds of laws of nature, and computing subject t...
متن کاملOptimization of Agricultural BMPs Using a Parallel Computing Based Multi-Objective Optimization Algorithm
Beneficial Management Practices (BMPs) are important measures for reducing agricultural non-point source (NPS) pollution. However, selection of BMPs for placement in a watershed requires optimizing available resources to maximize possible water quality benefits. Due to its iterative nature, the optimization typically takes a long time to achieve the BMP trade-off results which is not desirable ...
متن کاملFurther Towards a Uni cation of
Traditionally, parallel programming paradigms are associated with only a single class of parallel architecture. No single model of parallel computation has been able to span the range of parallel architecture classes. This has resulted in a lack of portability of software between parallel architectures, also a lack of portability of programmers' skills. This report describes the latest developm...
متن کاملMobile Agents, DSM, Coordination, and Self-Migrating Threads: A Common Framework
We compare four paradigms that have recently been the subject of considerable attention: mobile agents, distributed shared memory (DSM), coordination paradigms, and self-migrating threads. We place these paradigms in a common framework consisting of three layers—the computational model, its implementation on a physical architecture, and the interface to the system's environment—to demonstrate t...
